CMAR (Construction Manager At Risk)

JEN Electric is highly experienced at meeting and exceeding requirements on CMAR contracts.

Since JEN Electric began 15 years ago, they have annually contracted numerous design/build and school district projects. Their corporate philosophy is to provide a level of service from the initial budget to the certificate of occupancy...and beyond. JEN believes in giving the owner a product that is engineered to meet their specific needs, while avoiding budget overruns due to over-designing.

As CMAR, JEN Electric recently finished the new Supai Middle School for the Scottsdale Unified School District. This project was particularly challenging since the original CMAR firm was removed from the project at 40% design completion. JEN was able to maintain the original budget and meet the Certificate of Occupancy date, in spite of the contractor change and the construction duration being shortened to nine months.

Data Center & Call Centers

JEN has been doing fast paced installations for the Telephone and Data industry as well as Data Center and Call Center projects since we began in 1990. Among our list of clients/projects are: Cable One Data Center, Cable One Call Center, Charles Schwab Call Center, Mohave County Data Center, and Vanstar Call Center. Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) are a complex and ever-changing segment of our offered services. We have partnered with the major brand manufacturers to train our staff members. We send service technicians and design staff to the manufacturer's training facilities regularly to keep us at the level of competence that our customers have benefited from since our beginning.

Medical Facilities

JEN has been involved in medical facility construction for 15 years. We install power systems for medical equipment such as Xray and CT machines. Many of the well known brands have JEN make the electrical connections for their equipment being added to an existing medical facility. JEN has also completed entire new medical facilities such as Arizona Spine and Joint. Many of the top medical offices have been done by us as well.

Office Buildings

JEN Electric has completed several office buildings every year since our first year in business. Among a long list of projects JEN has designed and built are: Esplanade III, Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, Mohave County Administration Building, JDA Software, Cable One, Swift Transportation Headquarters, and Charles Schwab Call Centers. As this list shows, we have the experience for any office building type being considered.

Retail

We have completed hundreds of retail projects over the past fifteen years. Some of our projects have been as small as a flower shop in a retail strip center and others have been 500,000 square foot power centers. JEN was the electrical contractor for Opus' Arrowhead Power Center. Some of the retail chains we have recently built stores for are: Staples, Babies-R-Us, Bally's Fitness, Mens Warehouse, and Arizona Design Center at River Walk.

Schools

JEN began in 1990 doing new and remodel school projects. At that time these were all hard-bid/plan and specification jobs. Under this type of procurement method we have completed over 100 schools in our fifteen years in business. As the school procurement methods shifted from the hard-bid to the Construction Manager At Risk (CMAR) JEN was well suited for this change. We had been doing design/build since our beginning in the Office Building and Retail segments. With the budgeting and design skills we already had we were able to step into the CMAR market on schools and be way ahead of most of the electrical contractors doing school work.
