Productivity: The Critical Difference of Automation Technology

• Integrated Accounting System
  All material cost are updated daily, and labor costs are updated at time of payroll by job cost. All project managers are able to view their project cost to date information from their laptops.
• Job Cost and Labor Productivity
  JEN utilizes custom designed software, linked to their accounting system, to monitor total productivity on each project. Though this link and with specialized reporting, JEN is able to quantify productivity for each project on a weekly basis. Every week, their system forecasts with 98% accuracy, the actual labor cost at the project completion. Furthermore, this system shows trending information so that JEN can forecast future productivity.
• Estimating Software
  JEN’s estimating software database includes all of the items JEN Electric installs. Each item is assigned a labor unit and a material value that is updated via modem from a nationally recognized pricing service. This enables JEN to build a very detailed estimate of both material costs as well as labor hours for any project.
• Purchasing System
